Environmental Sustainability Business Partner (Water & Ecology)

Greenacre Recruitment are working with a social housing provider in the Berkshire area to source an Environmental Sustainability Business Partner (Water & Ecology) on a full-time, permanent basis.

Role Purpose

Work collaboratively within the Sustainability Team and across the business to achieve decarbonisation and fuel poverty ambitions.

Key Accountabilities

Support the delivery of Environmental & Fuel Engagement Strategies to ensure targets are met.

To assist in the management of Environmental Management Systems and accreditations, ensuring continuous improvement.

Develop a water strategy to achieve water neutrality for all new homes.

Engage with Homes colleagues to reduce water consumption in existing homes.

Engage with water companies, Local Authorities and Natural England to ensure the approach meets local and national policy.

Develop a consistent approach to achieving biodiversity net gain on all new housing developments.

Develop a programme of biodiversity improvements across existing homes.

Review opportunities to utilise other land to enhance biodiversity.

Keep up-to-date with relevant regulations, policies and trends in the industry that may impact on energy and sustainability in housing.

Knowledge & Experience

Experience within an Energy/Sustainability role preferably within the housing or similar sector

Comprehensive knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and regulation

Knowledge of enhancing biodiversity and Biodiversity net gain

Experience of implementing water reduction strategies

Experience of engaging communities in projects.

Experience of working across multiple departments.

Excellent IT skills, including experience of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, the Internet.

Skills & Abilities

Ideally candidates will have or be working towards an environmental qualification

Excellent verbal, written and numerical skills

Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, consultants, contractors and customers

Ability to manage a range of activities with limited supervision

Ability to prioritise workload, agree targets and meet deadlines

Hold a current, valid driving licence, desirable
