The Role

Greenacre Recruitment are working with a local authority based in East London to help recruit a Financial Inclusion Officer. The successful candidate will increase tenancy sustainment by providing money and debt management advice to tenants and leaseholders and money related advice to those at risk of losing their homes in the private sector.

Responsibilities

  • To work with residents in offering advice around financial inclusion
  • Provide support to other colleagues working with collection and recovery departments
  • Increasing tenancy sustainment focusing on benefits, money management, budgeting and how to access financial products
  • Be a source of specialist knowledge and advice on benefits system and changes
  • Conducting proactive and preventative work and sign-posting to other agencies 

Requirements

  • Experience of working within financial inclusion or welfare advice
  • Knowledge of Housing Benefit regulation and claims process
  • Confident and engaging communicator
  • Ability to handle conflict
  • Passion to deliver positive outcomes for people facing hardship
