Greenacre Recruitment are working with a housing association to recruit a Leasehold Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an efficient service to leaseholders shared owners and other similar tenures. This will include participation in meetings with leaseholders, provision of service charge information and ensuring legislative and contractual provisions are fulfilled.

The Role:

  • Provide a specialist management service to homeowners, ensuring that the obligations contained with the Leases are fulfilled both by the lessor and lessee
  • Ensure services charges are recorded accurately and reflect the services provided
  • Visiting residents and completing risk assessment reports
  • Responding to general queries from homeowners
  • Ensure rent increases and service charges are correctly applied
  • Prepare service charge schedules and budgets for new shared ownership and leasehold housing schemes
  • Conducting and maintaining legislation and compliance management including Statutory S20 consultation for contracts, maintenance improvements and service charges in accordance with the Act.

Skills and experiences:

  • Knowledge and working experience of the housing sector
  • Experience of managing home ownership properties
  • Experience of budgeting and charge calculation
  • Experience of leasehold management services
  • The ability to communicate effectively with people
  • Knowledge of legal, regulatory, social and political issues affecting leasehold management and general housing issues
  • Ability to work to deadlines and smart objectives
