With a profusion of regulatory change taking place amid continuing uncertainty, there is a growing thirst among housing leaders to reimagine traditional industry practices. AI will soon play a bigger part in driving improvement across every aspect of our services, and is becoming a key tool in addressing many collective challenges. Reduced operating costs, limited resources and a scarcity of talent is driving organisations to embrace technology to make better use of our existing skills and workforce.
We had the privelidge of interviewing Jenny Danson, Associate Director at Disruptive Innovators Network (DIN) and Head of Proptech Innovation Network (PIN), recently, who shared some valuable insights on what AI is doing to positively disrupt the sector. Jenny discussed why right now is such a crucial time to embrace innovation if we are to effectively tackle some of the sector’s greatest problems. Read the full interview in our new Technology & Transformation section.
As well as the bigger national housing conferences receiving record turnout levels this year, we’ve also been observing an increasing appetite for more intimate group spaces, where industry leaders from across the UK can connect together in smaller groups to share challenges, experiences and ideas on process and transformation.
Safe space to innovate – introducing the Leadership Lounge
In response to this demand, and building from our popular Senior Leaders Quarterly Networking Sessions, we hosted our first Social Housing Leadership Lounge in July. The Lounge is a confidential, informal thought leadership space where senior housing leaders from a diverse group of backgrounds and disciplines come together from across the UK. Delegates discuss current issues and challenges, as well as share innovation, pooling their experiences and ideas in a non-critical and solutions-led space.
Our first Lounge session was hosted by Amanda Leonard, CEO at Perfect Storm.inc. Amanda works closely with the regulator, along with national housing bodies such as CIH, NHF and Housemark, on some of the biggest issues the sector is currently facing. Read Amanda’s guest blog in our Executive & Governance section, where she shares some valuable insights from the first session.

A buoyant market and another new starter!
This quarter we were delighted to welcome yet another new team member to the Greenacre family, in the shape of the affable Dean Wylie! We extend a warm welcome to Dean, who joined our Housing Services Team in August, and brings with him 7 years of expert recruiting experience from the public health sector.
We understand Dean is a Chelsea supporter (we are offering him counselling for this through our wellbeing committee services) and despite this, is also a keen sportsman, including lawn bowls, so we’re looking forward to sharing his well-practiced Blue Steel ball rolling face in due course!
